Edits is an app from Instagram that allows you to turn your ideas into engaging videos. With Edits’ powerful editing tools, you can create your own video projects that can include text, music, effects, and more.
Start a video project
You can record a video project with Edits and keep it as a draft or download it to your device.
You can also view reels on Edits that were shared on Instagram to see what is trending and reuse audio from those reels to start your own video projects.
When you’re ready, you can automatically download your video to your device and choose to share it on Instagram or Facebook as a reel. Learn more about how to download and share your video.
Edit your content
Edits offers the tools to create unique content for your audience. You can use these tools to add and manage multiple layers (examples: music, text) of your video content.

How information from your Instagram account is used on Edits
You may log into Edits using your Instagram account. We use your Instagram information in accordance with Meta’s Privacy Policy to do things like import your saved reels on Instagram and collect and share real-time insights in Edits on reels you share to Instagram.
Data from your Instagram account is used for Edits and can include:
Content you interact with on Instagram
Your Instagram login information
Your Instagram account ID
Your Instagram name and username
Your Instagram profile information like your profile picture
Your Instagram followers
Accounts you follow on Instagram
Your age on Instagram
Your Instagram location information
Your Instagram account status relating to intellectual property violations and instances of going against the Community Standards.
